Common questions

What is the best WoW Forever class for a first character?

Hunter and Paladin lead our first-character shortlist because of their accessible solo toolkit and recovery options. That is an editorial starting point, not a measured damage ranking. Choose your intended role and activity before following a tier.

Are these tiers based on raid logs or measured DPS?

No. They compare the documented toolkit, role coverage, setup demands and recovery options at the cited build. We have not collected a representative launch log sample. A tank tier and a damage tier answer different questions.

Why are there 28 spec-role cards but only 27 talent trees?

The nine classes each have three talent trees. Feral Combat has separate Cat damage and Bear tank uses, so our role comparison and custom board show two cards for that shared tree.

Should I use the leveling list or the PvE list?

Use leveling for an ordinary first-character journey. Use the role-filtered PvE list for group jobs, and PvP for player combat. A class that recovers well between solo pulls does not automatically provide the highest raid damage.

What would change a recommendation?

Official ability changes, corrected source data and representative combat evidence can change an assessment. Read the class-specific tradeoff and build reference, especially before spending time on a plan shared before a patch.

Can I make and share my own tier list?

Yes. The free tier-list maker supports nine classes or 28 spec-role cards, separate local drafts, editable share links and PNG export. A personal board does not change our editorial rankings.
